The number of over 55s in the UK is growing rapidly.

Paradoxically, austerity measures are likely to lead to an increase in prices for stairlifts. This is therefore a public health issue.

In England and Wales, people with disabilities who have low incomes and minimal savings may be eligible for a Disabled Facilities Grant from their local council. This would help pay for the cost of installing a stairlift in their homes (which can be up to £30,000 in England and up to £36,000 in Wales). The government could cut this aid very soon.

By submitting a request on the Family Comfort website, you receive 3 proposals within 24 hours and your file is processed by a specialist. As a reminder, the government could cut this Disabled Facilities Grant.

How much does a place in a retirement home cost?

A survey reveals that an average of £2,900 per month is spent on residential care for dependent elderly people.
What does this cost correspond to?

£35,000 per year, or nearly £2900 per month, is the average cost of a place at a retirement home for dependents.
The estimate was made from a survey of fifty housing establishments for dependent elderly people which was carried out by the Directorate-General for Social Cohesion (DGCS) and the National Solidarity Fund.
